Open House 2018, Lauren Velvick

This Network event was an informal evening of music and discussion about the politics and practicalities of housing. Lauren has been researching housing policy and provision, with a focus on the under-representation of particular demographics, such as households made up of adults who are not related but rent a property together.

– Who are new houses built for?

– Do they relate to the ways we live now and will need or want to live in the future?

– How can we develop new approaches to housing which support different demographics?

The event will took place across the different rooms of an empty Victorian terraced house. During the evening activists, academics and housing professionals will led conversations about the UK’s housing culture, presented alternative approaches, and invited people to share their own experiences and ideas.
